Operations of Asaka Bank with securities

One of priority directions of activity of Asaka Bank from the moment of creation and till today are operations with securities. Now Asaka is one of the largest emitters, investors of the share market of Uzbekistan, and also the investment institute rendering for clients a wide spectrum of services on various segments of the given market.

Asaka Bank on a securities market carries out:

Issue  activity.

Being joint-stock company, Bank emitted 54 750 simple registered stocks, a face-value of every stock costs 100 000 soum of each pieces. Issued at the end of 1996,  stocks is completely distributed among founders. By the current moment shareholders of Bank are the Ministry of Finance of Republic Uzbekistan – 98,33 % from the authorised capital and Association "Uzavtoindustry" – 1,67 %. Charter capital of Bank basically is generated in US dollars.

In the market of depository certificates Asaka is the leader among commercial banks of Uzbekistan. During the activity (2000-2005 years) the Bank has carried out release of six issues, four of which are completely extinguished. The total amount of the let out depository certificates makes 39,5 billion soum. For today work on accommodation of depository certificates of the sixth release (volume of release 3 billion soum) is conducted. The given tool allows legal persons of Republic Uzbekistan to place money sources in safe and liquid assets with different maturity during whole one year.

Investment activity.

On the basic requirements of the Investment policy, Asaka Bank is formed with a portfolio of investments in securities, differentiated kind of tools, terms of the reference, to emitters, etc. the Bank is the shareholder and the owner of shares in authorised capitals of the enterprises representing various branches of economy. Investments of Bank are classified on long-term investments and trading.

Since 1996 Asaka is one of the largest and active participants in the market of the state securities, carrying out on the Uzbekistan currency stock exchange of an investment in the state short-term bonds, and also from the beginning of 2004 in the new tool - the state intermediate term treasury bonds.

Besides the Bank takes place one of in the leading position in the market of corporate bonds of domestic emitters, constantly operating a portfolio of Bank with the purpose of optimisation of parameters of profitableness and risk. The Bank carries out investments on various conditions, including Repo-transactions.

Services on a securities market.

According to license №267 which has been given out by the Centre on co-ordination and the control over functioning of a securities market of Republic Uzbekistan on investment - intermediary activity, Bank is carried out with all spectrum of intermediary services at Republican Stock Exchange "Tashkent". Through broker office of Bank "Asaka" №144 on Republican Stock Exchange "Tashkent" there are broker operations for domestic and foreign investors.

For investors - to legal persons the Bank, being the Primary Dealer, renders broker operations in the market of the state securities, carrying out intermediary functions in the market of the state short-term bonds and the state intermediate term treasury bonds.

Also, in dynamically developing market of corporate bonds, the Bank, carries out underwriting activity (assistance to emitters in release and accommodation of securities). Three large projects are successfully realised, at that by Bank are completely carried out of all the taken obligations on accommodation of securities. Together with it, the Bank represents itself as the Payment agent with function of performance of settlement-clearing operations under bonds of emitters.
